Health Papers Needed
The following is an outline of
the health papers your horse may be required to have to legally
cross state lines. It is the owner's responsibility
to have these documents in order at the time the horse is to be
picked up by shipping company. We would happily assist you and
answer any questions you may have about the health paper
requirements - feel free to ask!Coggins
- All horses to be transported
must be accompanied by a Current Negative Coggins Test, original
copy preferred.
- We also ask that the test be
current within 6 months. (Many of the states require the test to
be within 6 months - we appreciate your understanding.)
Health Certificate
- All states require a HC
completed by a licensed and accredited veterinarian to accompany
the horse in transport, original paperwork please. HC must
be within 30 days of transport date.
Brand Inspection
- ID, MT and UT all require
that a horse crossing the state line be accompanied by a B.I.
Certificate.
Individual State
Travel Permit
- Alaska, MT and OR request
that any horse crossing their state line have a Permit.
Rabies Vaccine Certificate
- A RVC is required by the
states of CT, RI (within 60 days). If your horse is going
to or will be traveling through either of these states please
have the RVC ready.
